Boho Nouveau at Sweet Salvage

This month's Sweet Salvage event was a little different from the norm... Can you guess what it was??? That's right! Color !!!!

The team was definitely channeling their inner gypsy as they designed the vignettes this month!

My friend Sandie from Sandra Kaye was in hog heaven! She loves color!!

And I have to admit, that even though I am not a "color girl" being around it for a little while did put a smile on my face!!!

I didn't find any new clothing to add to my wardrobe, but there sure were a lot of cute things!!

If I had the space, I would have loved to take home this clock cabinet. And, go figure... it's off white!! LOL!!
I did think this red ceiling tile magnet board was pretty cool too.

So we're walking around and looking at all the beautiful color... and I turn the corner.

And this is what I see....
And my heart SINGS!!! Isn't it just so funny??? I'm surrounded by all those lovely happy colors and the stuff that makes me truly happy has almost no color in it all!!

So for the rest of this post, I would like to share with all of you who have the same predilection for neutrals that I do, the things that made my heart sing at this month's show....

The show will be going on through Sunday so if you haven't already been... go, go, go!!!
There is something for everyone there!

Karen,
I have to laugh....I LOVE color!!! As you well know....I guess that is why we are friends...opposites attract!

You do such a wonderful job taking the photos, I feel like I have been there....:)

I just LOVE that you put all these lovely photos up each time you go to Sweet Salvage. Me being in Australia, no chance to visit. I must admit I visit your site every time you post in the hopes it's one of Sweet Salvage. Ha, I love the neutrals like you, so I was happy you turned the corner! If I lived where you do I could never resist going, I'd feel like I've gone to heaven seeing all that gorgeous "junk"

As a color girl, I am glad to see others embracing it. I just went to your friends blog and started following so I can get more color inspiration.

I wish we had something like this in Michigan. I am in heaven just looking at the photos. I adore that clock cabinet as well...... beautiful. I also love the little wooden box table- so useful, probably good we don't have one-I would be there all the time. I guess I need to try some thrift shops and see if I can get some inspiration (and maybe find some goodies!)

My Sister is wildly colorful, and I can so enjoy it, but couldn't live with it! I'm more of a neutral gal, enjoying a mixture of antiques, rust, glass and crystals...that gets my heart pumping! Thanks for sharing, I wish I could find a piece of Heaven like this close to my home!

I fall somewhere in between you and Sandie on the 'color scale' not too bright but not too white. We have quite a few once a month vintage treasure shops in my area....but they frown upon customers taking photos. :(

It looks like heaven to me!

You could most definitely shop for me - we seem to love the same things!!! Didn't linger long on the color photos, but went slow as a snail when I reached your favorite photos. Should I send you a bazillion dollars now to shop for me or should I wait until I actually have something other than monopoly money ;)

Thanks for sharing! Always love to see these photos from the sale!

Hugs and purrs,

"her" and Romeo

Oh Karen!! That place is just amazing!! And your photos bring it all to life so beautifully. Honestly- I love both the colored and the neutral vignettes-- if I could start all over in my house-- I think I'd want both! How lucky you are to spend the day in such a beautiful place--- I'd be just like you and take a million pictures!

Love your photos of Sweet Salvage. The colours and displays were beautiful. I love the white statues as Cream and white are my colours at home.

We are such funny creatures how are likes and dislikes keep changing. I'm with you Karen when it comes to home decor and creating with lace but I do have a passion for rich, deep burnout velvets and brocades because there is some gypsy that lives deep inside of me.
I have just finished a custom order for a gypsy fabric and lace book which I thoroughly enjoyed. It's on my blog if you want to see some rich vintage tapestries and colour!
Autumnal hugs to you from here,
Suzy

Hi, this is my first visit to your site and I have to say you've wow'd me. I'm up in BC, Canada, but I think I have to make a road trip to see this in person, can you give me some more info please. I tried googeling sweet salvage but not being familiar with it I couldn't find a the city. Where, which city, does this take place? How often does it happen? Thanks so much! Kat
