Welcome to Where Bloggers Create 2014

Hello everyone and welcome to this years Where Bloggers Create party!!! You guys never disappoint.  I am always inspired by your creativity and ingenuity!!

I can't wait wait to begin visiting all the wonderful studio spaces, but first a little peak at mine.
It really hasn't changed much since last year, but there are a few changes.

That bookcase is new. I'll show you a little more of it later.

Part of the view I have while sitting at my table. All my most used tools and supplies are right there at my fingertips.

 My encaustic was bottle collection.

I love this little cubby. It holds some of  my favorite vintage lace pieces.

The newer lace bits that are too short to hang on the wall go in these apothecary jars.
This bookcase is new to the studio. I had a much smaller one there before and it just wasn't big enough to hold all my fabric. I found this one at Goodwill. It started out at $79.00 but while I was there looking at it, one of the employees came over and changed the price to $30.00! With my 20% coupon it came to only $24.00 and it's real wood! I added the scrolly wood bits and painted it with ASCP. (Truly my most favorite paint now!)

I have a fabric fetish. It's hard to control myself buying it but I have to. There just isn't enough room for any more.

This is where I keep all my jewelry making supplies. The cabinet on the bottom was a garage sale find and wood box on top is a new addition to the studio.

I move all my bling and doodads from plastic storage boxes into these drawers. The drawers are easily removed so I'm very happy with the change.

The cabinet on the wall came from Ikea a few years ago. It holds spay inks and stains and scapbook type bits and baubles. I drilled holes in the bottom shelf and added a dowel. It keeps my rayon seam binding neat and easy to access without it getting tangled.

The pink side table is also a new addition. I'll show you the before and afters in a later post. It was also painted with ASCP. (Antoinette)

Above that Ikea cabinet sits all my jars of buttons.

This cute little piece is also new. It holds all my glitter including Stickles, German glass glitter and my favorite... Martha Stewart glitters because they are so fine and lovely.

Some of the glitter sits on top in pretty salt and pepper shakers.
This cubby is new this year too. I found it at a garage sale for $5.00. I'm sure it was a shoe organizer. It's not perfect, but it will do for now.
It functions beautifully and keeps laces and trims in view for easy access. Plus they are pretty to look at!!

I meant to get this lamp painted before. Another case of two many projects... too little time!!

Above the cubby I have some of my favorite cabinet cards from my "adopted" ancestors and the train case I recently re did.

Laces hang on the wall so it's easy for me to see what I have and be able to look through them quickly, (again) I think they're really pretty!!!  The door pocket organizer holds all kinds of things from paper ephemera to vintage ladies gloves.

Well, that's my studio!! Hopefully next year I will be showing you a whole new space!

Hi, Karen. Thanks so much for hosting! I love your studio. My favorite thing about it is your creative storage. I love Martha Stewart glitter, and the shakers are so perfect. I will definitely borrow your wonderful idea for my studio! You are very lucky to have such a large space, too.

Where did you find your French wire laundry basket? I want one for our kitchen to store my tea towels.

I enjoyed the tour of your space! :)

Karen, you are always such an inspiration... for years I have drooled over your creations and awesome craft room. Love the cubbies, all the deals you got (wow, talk about being in the right place at the right time!) and all that lace and fabric is so lovely.

Thank you so much for putting on yet another wonderful party - I have already started visiting participants! (Must.get.to.bed. I am hoping for rain so I can just sit and visit blogs all weekend.) ;)

Hi Karen, Thank you for hosting this great party again! I've been looking forward to it.
I love all your storage ideas. Hopefully I'll find such a great cubby one day, especially for such an amazing price. I sometimes forget what's in all my drawers, so it's better to see the supplies :). You got a great deal on that bookcase too. Your studio is fabulous.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Julia

PS: I tried but the title section is with 15 possible letters too short for my blog name.

Hello Karen! Ohhhh! Your place is amazing and makes me think, what am I doing here with mine?? haha. But you have encouraged us to come and join and, after following Where Bloggers Create for some years this time I have decided and here I am.
Your studio is fantastic! That cubby...the shakers...those beautiful fabrics...I enjoyed all the details.
Thank you very much for hosting this great party.

Thank you Karen for hosting this wonderful Party for all these years! It is good to be back.

Your studio is stuffed full of pretties. I too love ASCP and have been painting lots of furniture with it since last September. Your sweet table in Antoinette is gorgeous.

I can see why you are always creating... with all the supplies and space you have. I love all the ribbons and lace everywhere.

Looking forward to the tour.

Hello Karen!
We're off to a great start on this year's party I see! Lots of awesome spaces to visit! I act first and read directions later, so I didn't put my blog name in the title ; (
Sorry!
But if you don't care, neither do I!
I am in love with all your laces and fabrics! I think over and over," oh, that's a pretty one, and that one I love!" Till I have desired the whole shelf full!!
Lovely space. Those salt shakers are beautiful. And I love the shelves and cubbies...especially the new cubby. Thank you so much for hosting again this year! You are so sweet to feed us with so much inspiration and beauty!

Your creative space looks so pretty, Karen! I love all the room you have. Great idea to put the little lace bits in a jar. I always think they will come in handy for some project so hesitate to throw them out. Great find/buy on the bookcase. Love the look and it is perfect with its open shelves for your fabric.

Oh my gosh, look at all the bling you've got! Love the box you found to hold all these pieces. The drawers seem like they would work out great. Love the hooks for your laces and your caddy. I know you made yours, but I am looking to do something similar with a store bought organizer.

Wonderful tour of your space, Karen! Thanks so much for hosting again this year! : )

Karen, your space is as inspiring as always! I'm thinking it's a very good thing that my cat, Buck, isn't able to roam freely through your pretties like he has been doing with mine. After we adopted him this year, I had to relocate all of my glass jars and candy dishes off of ledges, as he took great interest in knocking them over and spilling their contents!

Thank you for hosting us again this year- can't wait to go and visit everyone!

Hi Karen, I think you've added a lot of new pieces to your space. I love your new bookcase with the added embellishment. Still think that your cubby has to be my all time favorite piece! What gorgeous lace and trims you have also. Love the buttons in the jars and the S&P shakers. I pick them up whenever I run across them also. They are just perfect for those little things. I too love Martha Stewart glitter. Always so excited to join your wonderful party. I am painting my sewing room today. Hoping to be able to share it. I shared my craft room with a few new changes.

Oh what fun to spot your badge while visiting a blogger for the Mad Tea Party 2014. I LOVE your annual get-together but we are in the midst of some major changes so couldn't join in this year.

However, now I can enjoy visiting and getting lovely and creative ideas for my real estate office which I'll enjoy implementing over the next few weeks and months. And then, hopefully, next year I'll join in again.

Thank you for all your hard work with this delightful blog party and OHHHHHH how lovely your creative spaces ALL are. A true inspiration!
