Burlap Coffee Sack Purse

I've been having fun making accessories for myself lately. I find I enjoy wearing things that I made very much, but since I can't sew my own clothes, purses and jewelry are next best thing!
Do you remember the last post where I showed you some pics of burlap  coffee sacks from Sweet Salvage??
Well this is what I did with one!! My friend Cindy (who lives in Texas) visited me last year and had the coolest bag made from a coffee sack. I fell in love and decided since I couldn't buy one from the designer of Cindy's bag, I would make my own!!

Since I wear neutrals 75% of the time, I wanted it to be neutral as well, so I added this pretty black and cream damask to the back and one side of the handle.

And to give it a little bit more personality, I used a pretty aqua blue and brown print for the lining and floral print for the pockets.

The leather fringe came from Ebay and it's a good thing the vendor had more than one yard, because I had to order a second yard after my sweet little piggy of a Corgi ate the first yard!!
I used some of my stash of vintage lace around the edges and the top and finished  off the top edge with a cool black trim from Hobby Lobby.

The finishing touch was a flower pin made from an old scarf, cheesecloth and vintage bling!!
I'm really happy with the way it turned out, since I did not use a pattern and just kind of winged it!!!

btw... I did just notice that my watermark still has 2012 on it!! LOL! I guess I better fix that.... next time!!!! (you understand.)

I'm so impressed...just winging it and you came up with this!! Totally inspiring...and I'm chuckling about the 2012...mostly I worry about that on what I'm filling in the date for -- never thought about watermarks and other things that are "set"!

My DH and I run a cafe and this bag is perfection for me. I have quite a few coffee burlap bags so maybe one day I will buckle down and do something with them. You are a very talented lady.
