A few Christmas picks here in my desert cottage...

Hello my friends! Things here have been crazy busy!! I feel bad that it has been so long since I have shared anything with you. But I am sure you understand! This is a very busy time of year and my shop space at Rusty Saturday has been doing so well (thank you) that I have been having a hard time keeping up with it and doing all the other things that need doing! (What a wonderful problem to have!)

Anyway, I have finally made some time to share some pics around the house.

I did a lot less decorating this year than in previous years. (Much to my husbands dismay.)
One reason is lack of time, but the main reason is just that my tastes are leaning towards a little less clutter these days. I didn't put up a second tree in the family room nor the big garland over the mantle. Instead I just went with this pretty Noel banner and a collection of bottle brush trees.

The hearth has black and white photos from past Christmases when my hubby was a kid...

 and this shadowbox I made.

My snowman collection gets displayed too. This one is my favorite.

There is a garland that hangs between the family room and dining room. It is covered with handmade ornaments.

Our tree is in the living room. It has pretty wrapped boxes and vintage toys that my hubby and I have found to use under the tree. It makes me feel like there are still children living in the house (besides my husband! LOL!)

The garland in front of the window has pretty twinkling lights, handmade ornaments and a burlap and lace ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed this peak into my house for Christmas.

I hope you are staying warm, feeling loved and enjoying yourselves!
Be kind to one another in this season of craziness!!!

Oh wow, everything is so lovely ! I especially like the garland with ornaments hanging from it. What a grand idea for displaying all the ornaments we don't have room for on our Christmas tree.

Congratulations on doing so well in our shop !

Your home is decorated so beautifully, just like I like it! I've been looking for a long time for someone who shares the same taste for design as I do and I pretty sure that I have found someone that can help me out redesigning my blog. I will get with you after the holidays. Thank you for sharing. XX Jo

Your home is always so beautiful, but never as gorgeous as it is at the Holiday's! Just looking at your photo's make me feel a little more festive, I just couldn't get in the mood this year even thou we have had LOTS of snow. So I just put up a few decorations, it's kind of sad looking around here! I have been doing many home projects, painting etc. WHY did I wait until the Holiday's to start so many??????? Anyway, I have enjoyed my visit with you so much and am so happy for your success with your shop...doesn't surprise me at all! Happy Holiday's my friend, enjoy your family and friends and beautiful home!

Sigh. It's so very beautiful and so festive and yes, magical! I love every photo, every vignette, and confess to a bit of envy that you are all done! (True, I had the flu and travel right after and am unbearably behind but still... even though envy is a very un-Christmaslike feeling, it's there!

But in a good way. I think I shall come back here often if the holiday spirit sags, just to smile.
