Happy Wednesday my friends!! I thought I'd hook up with Becky's Blissful Whites Wednesday and show you the dining room chair slipcover's I made. They are made from linen that I bought at JoAnne's with a coupon (Don'tcha love coupons??) The black chairs needed just a bit of softening.
I made a template from brown paper and then cut the fabric for the seat several inches bigger so it would drape over the edge. I secured the back corners with big bows and secured the front corners with hidden ribbon from underneath. I think they turned out pretty good!!
The top of the table has a simple little centerpiece with sweet daisies and 5 mason jars that I wrapped with twine and stuck candles in. I don't care what time of year it is... daisies always make me smile.
I hope they made you smile and brightened your Wednesday too!!!

You are so right--the covers really softened the chairs. I love the ruffles!
So love your chair covers, you are very talented! Those daisies are so pretty, Karen. After all of our rain and then back to a bit cooler weather, daisies do make me smile.
Darling chair covers! I agree about daisies! It's all so cheery!
These are fabulous! Wish I could do the "ruffle" thing....I've wanted to make some of these for my dining room chairs for forever but I'm not a very good seamstress... so I psych myself out of doing it every time I see a great job by someone like you in blogland. Ok, so I'm jealous:) Seriously, they're very pretty and look perfect.
Love the bows! Nice.

Your chair covers are brilliant! Such a good idea for softening the black, and you can change them if someone spills (I know it would happen at the first meal in my house!! :) ) I always like daisies--I carried them when I was married. Linda
Ooh la la! Your slipcovers are beautiful! So romantic and pretty!
Love the slipcovers - so romantic and pretty! I am daisy kind of girl too. They just make you smile.
Have a Nice Day,
Suzanne
I love the look of your chairs with their little skirts. And such a sweet centerpiece! My dining room chairs are begging for some "dresses" to cover them. The hard part is that the seats are so wide.. wider than normal. What was my grandmother thinking??!! Hey, at least they got passed down to me to carry on with tradition!
Hvor smukt med betræk på dine stole. knus morkaren.
Great job, Karen! Love your slips! I made some last year, too, but I took them off for the Fall/Winter {just to have a different look}. They really give the chairs a different look!
Oh how pretty! I swear I'm gonna' get over there to see your "NEW" kitchen.
Hugs,
Meri

Your covers are perfect for your black chairs! I love it!
What darling chair covers! I wish I had some sewing skills, I have several upholstered bar stools that need covers like this. Maybe someday :)

Hi Karen, You did a wonderful job on the chair covers, it really did soften up the set & Love the Daisies.... reminds me that spring is only a few months away.
Cheryl
The light linen is beautiful with the black chairs. The ruffles and wide bows are just the perfect finishing touch on these sweet covers. I've been trying to decide what to do with my chairs, they're antique and the seat and front and back need to be re-covered, right now I have full toile slipcovers on them, but would really like to show off the beautiful oak again, so your sweet little covers might be perfect for the seats. Thanks for sharing!
Hugs,
Pendra
I love the shaping of your chair slipcovers, the linen is a good choice. I wouldn"t let anyone sit on them. I popped over to your pinterest boards (already a follower). I could spend alot of time there.
Hi Karen, oh the gift and talent of "sewing"....I don't have it. Lol. No really I don't so nice love the end result. Beautiful flowers to look at during these winter months..especially here in New England. Blessings, Karen..A Cape Cod Nest.
I just love what my eyes discover here :O) Those slipcovers are great! I still hesitate to make some for my chairs, as my lovely, awesome and precious cats would gladly destroy them in seconds ... :O)
Sending fuzzy bear hugs your way, Biene and the kitties :O)
You are one busy girl! I love the chair covers! The fun thing is I can picture exactly what it looks like! I soo wish I had your talent for sewing stuff like that. I can sew quilts but that's about it!!! Take care, xoxoxoxo
