Going Boot Belt Crazy!!

Last month I was in Goodwill and saw this Brighton Belt for $3.99. I had recently purchased a pair of cowboy boots and thought they needed a little extra somethin'- somethin', so I purchased the belt and took it home to my studio. This is what I made with it. I loved it so much I hit all the Goodwill in my area for several weeks searching for great belts to makeover.

These are my creations! I wear them all the time now!
This was a denim belt with the rivets already in it. I cut the belt down smaller and used the leftover belt to make a cuff that I will show you in another post. :)

This was a plain brown belt, but I liked the buckle. I had a piece of stamped and stained leather that I bought at SAS here in town (a local fabric remnant warehouse)and I glued it to the belt.

This was another Brighton belt that I painted and glazed.

The belt was constructed so that I could unscrew these metal connectors from the leather and take out a whole section. It made it the perfect size!

This one was made from a tapestry belt. I didn't use the buckle in this case so I was able to keep the detail on the end that goes through the loop.

I just wrap the belt in lace if I want to cover the leather.

I also made a couple for a second pair of black boots that I bought. This one didn't need cutting down as I just wrapped it around twice. I slid the heart buckle on before I added the lace to the back of the belt.

That big heart is the buckle for this belt. It's also a Brighton belt. I added the rhinestone chain around the edge of the belt and also the lace ruffle, the little crocheted doily and another rhinestone heart. There's no such thing as too much bling!!!!

I was addicted to make these for several weeks! I think I have enough now!! LOL!!!

Well, I haven't worn tall leather boots since my first and only pair in high school and we won't get into how long ago that was! But I may just try to relive my boot days by getting a pair! These embellishments are adorable and so original! You are very clever!

Swooning to the max, here! I just love these repurposed belts! They are just the deal for boots - but I just might put my own spin on it for bracelets/cuffs (a true fashion love). The tapestry belt is my absolute favorite. Very vintage, Victorian, loveliness on overdrive.
Joy to you!

I love bling also.

My daughter does and her daughter.

Her daughter had a ball in Paris
buying jeans , jacket with bling, bling.

Brought me back a bling, bling bracelet. Silver and gold combination.

I love it. My niece teaches riding on her ranch. Those boot s she would love for going out dressy, dressy.
