What I did with all that Lace!

I have been collecting lace runners, place mats and squares for about a year now with a particular project in mind. This weekend I finally took some time for myself and decided to dig in and see if I had enough to complete it. Turns out... I did!

I layed the pieces out on my bed in an arrangement that pleased me.

Then I took them section by section to my sewing machine and with a zigzag stitch I joined them all together.

This is the finished result!! Once again, Pinterest has offered some wonderful inspiration!
I am so pleased with the way it turned out.

I still have quite a few pieces left and will continue collecting until I have enough to do the window on the office side of the bedroom. :)

I hope you find something fun and creative to start out your New Year!!
We are supposed to have a Winter storm come through tomorrow so we will be staying in!!!

Happy New Year to everyone... 2015 is going to be a great year!

I LOVE you new curtain! It's so unique! I'm not sure if I shared this or not, but now that my husband has passed, I plan on having my wedding dress cleaned, then cut it up and make curtains for my bedroom. I'm sure it will be a challenge but after seeing what you did, it has motivated me even more! Enjoy the cooler weather while it lasts! Blessings, Cindy

Clever idea Karen and I love the look of the lace curtain hanging on the window. Are there pieces in it that have stories attached to them?
I've been thinking about your suggestion of a different blog look for next year and think I'm ready to take the plunge. :-)
All the best for 2015!

I saw it on instagram and it is just stunning! I have thought of trying one and was worried the different weights would make it droop but it is PERFECT!

That is beautiful! As I type this, I have a paper box of 'linens' (laces, doilies, napkins, etc) in the middle of my living room floor. My theory is if it's in my way, I am more apt to deal with it. This is a magnificent idea. Thank you for sharing.

Absolutely delicious! The curtain is everything I love from repurposing vintage lace, it is unique, romantic and fits perfectly in this room. There will never be one identical to it but oh I I'd love to try making one with my lace and doilies!
